On this page we will show you how glass breaks.
Please have a look at the results of the endurance tests of standard glass, wired glass, tempered glass, security glass and glass with Life Guard Security Film.

Standard Glass

The glass cracks over a large area. At the moment of breakage small fragments scatter inside the room and big sharp shards fall down.
It is extremely dangerous.
*This type of glass is presently installed in most existing residences, offices, etc.

Wired Glass

Because of the wire mesh, the glass doesn't fall out, but many small glass fragments scatter inside the room. From a crime prevention point of view, it is said that because the glass doesn't fall down, breaking it is comparatively quiet and breaking and entering becomes easier.

*Wired glass is often assumed to have a crime prevention effect, but nothing could be further from the truth. It is used for preventing the spread of fire according to the Fire Services Act.

Tempered Glass

Under impact or wind pressure, tempered glass is 3-5 times as strong as a normal float glass, but it breaks easily when using something with a tapered point.
If by any chance the glass breaks, it fractures into small, relatively harmless fragments.

Scatter Prevention Glass (0.25 mm – 0.1 mm)

Standard glass with a 0.25 mm – 0.1 mm film attached to its whole surface.
It is possible to prevent scattering in case of a disaster, but the attached film is not strong enough to hinder the glass from breaking and falling down from its frame when strong impact is caused against its surface.

Security Glass

Security glass or Laminated Glass is a glass with a tough interlayer between two or more layers of glass, and shows strong anticrime properties.
*Because there is a interlayer between the glass layers, the glass scatters into the room with an impact from the outside, or during disaster or earthquake events.

Glass prepared with Life Guard Security Film (LG440)

Standard glass (including wired and double pane glass) with the security film attached to the inside surface.
The glass does not scatter into the room, even with a strong impact from the outside.
*Certified as a building part with high crime preventability, this is the most effective way to prevent trespassing and burglaries.
